FEW WORDS

Today I started the process of trying to duplicate the antique gem I found online.I started out by choosing  thread and  needle. Then made 10 stitches and closed the circle with a slip stitch.

In the circle I stitched 18 single crochet and closed with a slip stitch to complete my first row.

Then for the second row I did a variation of the double crochet.

In  each single crochet from row #1 you will stitch a double crochet and  separate each one with one chain, and close with a slip stitch

You can do the third row in your own version to put an authentic touch. Here are the pics:

The instructions will get better with time, Please have patience.

RECYCLING

I have decided to save the planet by collecting any metal ring that comes my way.

I have seen really nice expensive purses made by recyclingI will merge crochet stitches into the mix to not deviate from my “specialty”.

I had to go to You Tube for inspiration and basic classes, then I will try to design my purse. I hope it won’t turn out to be another little “Nem” my infamous little Penguin Purse. Well we will see…stay tuned okay???

HAPPY MONDAY!!!!

I have been feasting on WordPress, again!!!

I have come to the realization that I cannot entertain the idea of trying to create a lot of “yummy” stuff like  granny Afghans, Amigurumi dolls and etc., to even attempt such a feat would require a trip to the nearest Psych Ward, so I’ve decided to specialize in one area and hopefully keep my sanity in the process.

I have worked with cotton yarn before and will continue using it very sporadically but my real love is thread. Crochet thread is in my opinion very beautiful and versatile.

I have just bought some size #3 to add to my size#10 and please don’t believe that I am narrow-minded, I’m not,  this is just my way to keep this addiction in check.

My little “Nem” (aka nemesis) is coming along nicely. I am using recycled items to stuff him, I will be explaining soon.

Have a fantastic and creative week fellow Artisans!!!!

MOTIF TUTORIAL

I hope this tutorial is not confusing: this motif starts off with 5 chains

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Close the circle with one slip stitch,  then stitch 6 chains and  one double crochet in circle,  separate each double crochet with 3 chains repeat 4 times.  The circle is complete. Second Row: in each loop you will make a single crochet, half double crochet and 3 double crochet, then half double crochet then a single crochet you will repeat in each loop.

This will make the petals. If you would like a more complex flower you will add more petals. I will tackle that in the next tutorial. See you soon!!!
